The Wright Family & Scott's Senior Photos

The day of this session was so stormy and gloomy all afternoon! The forecast kept changing because the storm was lasting longer than expected! Barbara and I were emailing back and fourth most of the early evening and decided to proceed with their session--knowing that it could very well continue raining into their session time. I am sure anyone who has planned and prepared for family photos understands that once you do all the legwork of clearing schedules, planning outfits, and just getting ready--you really do not want to have to postpone! I am so glad we took the chance and went ahead with our plans--these images are just gorgeous. The light was perfect!

We started at this darker, more masculine, location because after all, Barbara is pretty outnumbered with all the men in her family! I usually like choosing spots with more open sky, but I just had to take a chance on this more woodsy backdrop! I loved the way they looked against it and I am really happy that I branched out from my usual choice!

In addition to family photos, Barbara wanted to have her oldest son, Scott's, senior photos done! This location was very diverse in scenery--it was perfect for a senior because it offers so much variety! I always love using white (or any light-colored) building so this little old farmhouse was calling my name!

The mountain views were pretty great too! Especially considering we were in Erie! Erie has great mountain views, but they often do not photograph as well as spots in Boulder, Louisville, or Superior, because of the distance east from the Rockies! This will for sure be one of my new go-to spots in Erie!

Thank you so much, Barbara & Tom! I loved working with you two, as well as your boys! They were really fantastic sports-- I am fully aware most teenage boys would rather do just about anything over family photos, but they were so polite and happy to oblige in all my posing requests!

Best,

Stephanie
