If I haven't gushed over my newest lens (85mm for the fellow camera nerds!) enough already, this session is really just a prime example of how much I love it! I do not think it left my camera the entire session, until the cake smash anyways! I use a smaller (and quicker focusing) lens for cake smashes since toddlers move quickly and unpredictably--especially when they have a whole cake to themselves!
This was the second time I have had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous family! Blake is just a couple weeks younger than Sophie, so it was fun to plan Blake's smash with Rachel as I planned Sophie's! Last fall when I saw them, Blake was just itty bitty and Ralph (the pup!) could fit in Rachel's lap--which he definitely could not do anymore! And yes, he is still a puppy! A very BIG puppy!
Just look at how beautiful they all are!! Even Ralph! Most photogenic dog ever!! I love Rachel's dress choice. It was the perfect choice to complement both Blake and Tom's outfits and tie the whole look together! This little white chair was Rachel's when she was little--I love when I get to incorporate sentimental items like this. These photos are always a hit with the grandmas too!!
Isn't this set to just die for?! I love how much thought Rachel put into the details! I sent her photos of this tent that I bought and she brought the rest from Blake's nursery! It is so fun to think that Blake's First Year photos pay a little tribute to her baby nursery. Her blue eyes and chunky little cheeks just melt me! So adorable!
